TOPSFIELD, Mass., April 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Monty Roberts' 1999 "Join-Up" Tour helps raise thousands of dollars for horses and the people who love them throughout the country. Last year's tour generated more than $655,000 for 43 local non-profit organizations across the US and parts of Canada. Monies raised for individual groups ranged from $5,000 to more than $40,000. Monty's goal is to ensure the continuation and well being of these types of organizations by equaling or surpassing that amount in 1999. While the 1998 tour focused solely on Monty's "Join-Up" technique of starting young horses humanely and without pain or fear, his 1999 tour will include work with remedial horses as part of the demonstration. "I am so energized by the heartfelt reception we received from people all across the country. During my many days on the road, I met so many people who believe that our planet is ready to embrace non-violence as a way of life," says Mr. Roberts. "My dream is to leave the world a better place for horses and humans. What better way to do this than to show people how to train horses in a non-violent manner and to assist deserving equine groups at the same time?" Beneficiary organizations for the 1999 tour include programs for disabled riders, the Agape Therapeutic Riding Center in Cicero, Indiana, which is hosting an upcoming event in Indianapolis. "Our efforts to provide therapeutic programs for the disabled depend heavily on fundraising and donations, and Mr. Roberts' demonstration will help raise much-needed funds to support our continued efforts," commented Cheryl Miller. More than 500 students benefit each year from Agape's programs. General admission seating for all events is $25 per night, with a limited number of VIP tickets also available at $75. The VIP admission includes ringside seating and a one-hour reception and book signing with Mr. Roberts. Tickets are available by calling the toll-free number, 888-826-6689.
