Monument Health names Stephanie Motter, RN, MSN first CEO of Western Colorado's largest clinically integrated network
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo., June 21, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Monument Health, a clinically integrated, accountable network offering a comprehensive solution to meet all of an individual's health care needs, has named Stephanie L. Motter, RN, MSN, as its first CEO.
Motter comes to Monument Health with a background ideally suited to lead the local network. A nurse practitioner by profession, she holds a bachelor's degree from Smith College in economics and a master's degree in nursing from Yale University. Her experience as a primary care provider prepared her for her most recent position as the vice president for quality and clinical strategy at DaVita Healthcare Partners.
"She is a colleague with a keen understanding of the role of quality measurement and paying for how well providers perform—not how many patients they see or tests they run," said Michael J. Pramenko, MD, family physician and executive director of Primary Care Partners. "We are fundamentally changing health care delivery with coordinated care that reaches beyond the walls of any single care setting. Stephanie gets innovation and implementation. She recognizes the importance of greater access to care and more affordable, accountable solutions. She gets Monument Health."
Primary Care Partners is a founding partner in the Monument Health integrated care network, collaborating with St. Mary's Hospital and Rocky Mountain Health Plans for better care, lower costs and a healthier Mesa County.
"In only a few months since launching our first network plans, Monument Health already tracks great success with its network in right-priced Connect for Colorado marketplace plans," Motter said. "You can't put a price on the peace of mind you feel when you know the providers in your care network are ranked among the nation's best in terms of safety, effectiveness and commitment to patient-centered care. The opportunity to lead the engine that drives transformation in health care delivery, and to do that in the community that some of my family calls home, is a winning combination."
