Mormon Choral Organizations Announces Dallas Expansion and Name Change

GILBERT, Ariz., April 19, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Millennial Music, parent company of Mormon Choral Organizations, has publicized plans to open a third MCO location in Dallas, Texas, as well as an organizational name change.

Co-founder, dean and conductor Brett Stewart announced the expansion at a concert while the group toured in Texas.  The new Dallas location, like current locales in California and Arizona, will enroll children ages 4 – 18 in youth choral ensembles. Adult singers and instrumentalists will audition for the Grand Chorus and symphony orchestra.

In a further announcement, the organization revealed their new name, Millennial Choirs & Orchestras. "This is an exciting time for our organization," said Susan Stephensen, MCO Executive Director. "We are thrilled to bring this outstanding program of quality, sacred music to the Dallas community, as well as our existing locales, under a name that is both descriptive and all-inclusive.  It is a perfect fit with our motto: "All Ages – All Faiths – One Voice."

MCO began in 2007 when co-founders Brett and Brandon Stewart established a first location in Orange County, Calif. They later established a second location in the East Valley area of Phoenix, Ariz. in 2009.

The group accepted an invitation and recently performed at the American Choral Directors Association national conference in March 2013. MCO has released three albums, including two of which have been ranked in the top 10 of the Billboard Traditional Classical chart.

The organization's final concerts of the season, "Then Sings My Soul", will be held on April 26th, at Segerstrom Hall (http://www.scfta.org) in Costa Mesa, California, and on April 19th and 20th at Mesa Arts Center in Mesa, Arizona.  The Arizona shows sold out early, but tickets are available for a recently-added 5:00 pm performance on Saturday, April 20th (www.mesaatscenter.org.)
