Mosaica Education Names Dr. Iris Metts as Chief Education Officer
NEW YORK, Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Mosaica Education, Inc., a charter
school management company, announced today the appointment of Dr. Iris T.
Metts as its new Chief Education Officer. Dr. Metts comes to Mosaica from
Prince George's County, Maryland, where she serves as Chief Executive Officer
of the public school system. Her many accomplishments include the
introduction of full-day kindergarten and a mandatory summer school program,
the implementation of class size reduction, and the establishment of the first
and only public military academy in the state of Maryland. She will start her
new position at Mosaica on July 1, 2003.
Dr. Metts is a graduate of Hampton University, received her master's
degree from the College of William and Mary, and her doctorate from Virginia
Polytechnic and State University. She has done doctoral work at Harvard
University and has held leadership positions in many professional and
community service organizations. Dr. Metts has received numerous awards for
leadership and has been recognized for her community involvement efforts.
