Motorola Asia Implements World's Largest Corporate Travel Management System With Sabre Business Travel Solutions; Installation Generates Largest Volume of Non-U.S. Trips Booked
MINNEAPOLIS, July 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Sabre (NYSE: TSG) today announced
that Motorola Asia has installed Sabre Business Travel Solutions(R) across
12 countries to simplify travel processes and cut costs. Motorola has
deployed Sabre BTS on its corporate Intranet for use by more than
8,700 travelers.
Reaching 90 percent of total trips booked, Motorola's adoption rates have
far exceeded the company's original forecast. With Sabre's installations in
Taiwan, Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, India, Malaysia, Indonesia,
Australia, China, Vietnam and the Philippines; Motorola Asia estimates that
its travel and entertainment costs will be reduced by 30 percent.
"Motorola was looking for more than just a robust end-to-end travel
solution like Sabre BTS for our Asian markets. We needed a service provider
with a reputation for quality global support and one that fits with our
overall corporate philosophy and technology direction. Sabre had both," Paul
Rode, corporate vice president and director of finance for Motorola. "Our
users have found the transition to Sabre BTS simple, convenient and attractive
because it is such a powerful tool. Despite the complexity of being deployed
in multiple countries, Sabre was very flexible in handling Motorola's unique
travel policy. We have been pleased with Sabre BTS' ability to efficiently
handle a wide range of itineraries across a variety of environments."
Sabre BTS gives business travelers the convenience of making their own
travel arrangements on their computers with the reassurance of 24-hour access
and support capabilities from their travel agency, while maintaining the
integrity of the company's travel and entertainment policies. In addition,
the product suite enables corporations to track every travel dollar from pre-
planning and purchasing to expense reporting and reimbursement.
"Sabre BTS offers a fast and convenient online experience for business
travelers while reducing total travel costs for the corporation," said Nancy
Raynor, senior vice president and general manager of Sabre BTS. "This
12-country deployment underscores our system's flexibility and capabilities in
dealing with complex international travel and multi-country deployment.
Motorola Asia is on the cutting edge of travel management with a strong vision
and a corporate culture focused on results. We are extremely pleased that we
were able to respond to Motorola's needs by providing a deployment that is
supported across the globe."
