Motorola Expands Digital Home Management Software for IP-based Microsoft Mediaroom Set-tops
Motorola NBBS software monitors and manages the integrated IP Home
HORSHAM, Pa., Nov. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Motorola, Inc.'s (NYSE: MOT) Home & Networks Mobility business today announced that it is accelerating the delivery of personalized media experiences with the expansion of Motorola's NBBS remote device management software platform to include IP-based Microsoft® Mediaroom® certified set-tops, like Motorola's VIP Series. Motorola's NBBS software platform provides visibility and management of the whole IP home-including modems, Wi-Fi® gateways, VoIP phones and now IP set-tops - enabling operators to accelerate the introduction of new revenue-generating high-definition IP video experiences, while providing whole-home service assurance.
Motorola's new NBBS IPTV solution module enables operators to provide greater value to their subscribers by automating customer service and providing faster response times. Adoption of NBBS results in fewer calls to the operators' customer support center and faster resolution for subscriber issues - enabling the simplification of today's complex digital home for the subscriber, while simultaneously reducing the operator's operational and support costs.
As next generation IP networks emerge, ensuring seamless service requires operators to successfully manage an environment that supports a myriad of devices and vendors, and serves multiple types of media across different access networks. Motorola's industry-leading, proven NBBS software platform solves this problem by providing intelligent management, auto-provisioning and remote access to improve service delivery efficiency and increase customer satisfaction.
"Motorola is excited to offer this unique solution for managing IP-based Microsoft Mediaroom certified set-tops," said Alan Lefkof, corporate vice president and general manager, Broadband Home Gateways and Software, Motorola. "Operators can turn to Motorola for highly scalable whole-home service assurance solutions that deliver more reliable service and IP video quality. Our platform drives down operational costs by reducing the number of truck rolls, automating customer service and providing faster response time to subscribers."
Motorola will be showcasing its NBBS software and solutions at TelcoTV in Orlando, Fla., November 10-12-, Booth #401.
