MPi Achieves Milestone of 500 Auto Dealers Using World Class Inspection Program(TM) to Drive Profitability
LAS VEGAS, Feb. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- MPi, a leading provider of
profitability tools for auto dealer service departments, today announced a
milestone for its World Class Inspection(TM) (WCI) Program. In 2007 the
number of auto dealers using its customized electronic dealership
generating solution EDGE(TM) (formerly known as ARGIS (TM)) grew to 500.
EDGE has proven to increase the additional parts and labor dollars sold per
vehicle inspection by as much $100. This translates into tens of thousands
of dollars of incremental sales a month for the average dealership.
According to MPi Chairman and CEO Les Silver, dealers using the WCI
Program are seeing customers buying more needed repair work. In addition, a
higher volume of customers are returning for declined repairs because they
are providing a much more customer friendly environment for recommending
additional needed repairs. "It was a very good year in very difficult
market conditions. While many dealers are afraid to invest in their
business we are growing." Silver predicts that MPi will continue to
outperform expectations in term of new customers as it fills a real need
for dealers in today's market conditions. "Dealers need what we have to
offer if many of them are going to grow or survive," Silver said.
MPi dealers using the WCI Process ended the year strong with over $37M
in service sales in the 4th quarter of 2007. "That's a big number," stated
Terry Rich, General Manager for Sam Pack's 5 Star Ford. "I know our service
business has increased considerably. In the 7 months we have been on the
program our parts and labor sales have been up almost $74,000 each month.
Needless to say we are very pleased," Rich added.
"We offer dealers the ability to maximize their service profits and are
very proud of what we have accomplished with our customers. I expect those
sales numbers to continue to grow as more dealers sign up for our World
Class Inspection process in 2008," stated David Boyle, President and COO of
MPi.
Vehicle inspection programs can produce substantial revenue for auto
dealership service departments; however, most fail because they are not a
consistent and quality process and can't easily be measured. The World
Class Inspection Program, launched in January of '07, offers real live
process measurement for service departments. It provides them the tools and
processes needed to measure, manage and coach desired results. The MPi WCI
program includes implementation/training, hardware, a measurement system,
software tools and field support.
Dealerships use MPi's EDGE(TM) to conduct the inspections. The EDGE
system is propriety inspection software solution that delivers a World
Class Inspection Process for the service advisor and technician; along with
a professional one-of-a-kind customer inspection report take away that
details what was performed, the results of the inspection and price
estimate in an easy to read document called the Know Your Vehicle
Report(TM).
EDGE integrates with most dealership management systems (DMS) to easily
pull the vehicle RO information into EDGE in order to quickly and precisely
conduct vehicle inspections based on the OEM recommendations and dealership
offerings. The system operates in the service department from an installed
network server that transmits the EDGE information to the service advisors
and technicians on their local computers. The EDGE replaces an archaic,
somewhat unprofessional paper process with a sophisticated electronic
system.
"Service reminders were the thing of the 90's but with vehicles sales
off and brand loyalty disintegrating, more customers is not the answer for
improving service and parts profits. Selling all the legitimately needed
work to your existing customers is the key and MPi has found that dealers
who use their World Class Inspection(TM) product are realizing an addition
$100 a repair order in customer pays sales. This is the difference between
staying in business or not for many dealers," says Boyle.
EDGE will be demonstrated at the 2008 NADA Conference and Exposition in
San Francisco, CA, February 9-12. Visit booth #8313S for more information.
