21 Sep, 2005, 01:00 ET from MyFamily.com, Inc.

PROVO, Utah, Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- MyFamily.com, Inc., the leading
online network connecting families, present and past, announced today that it
has acquired substantially all of the assets of Heritage Makers, L.L.C., a
Springville, Utah, company that helps people discover, preserve, and celebrate
their family heritage. Founded in 2004, Heritage Makers is a direct selling
organization with more than 1,200 independent "Heritage Consultants" that
markets custom published products through in-home presentations called
"Heritage Celebrations." Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
MyFamily has named Chris Lee general manager of a new subsidiary that will
build and develop this direct selling business, also to be called Heritage
Makers. Lee most recently served as director of business development for
 MyFamily.
"We are delighted to welcome Heritage Makers into the MyFamily network, as
MyFamily's entire focus is to offer great products that connect and strengthen
families. Heritage Makers' products are perfect complements to our existing
products," Lee said. "MyFamily is looking forward to building a party-plan
direct selling business side-by-side with all of the talented and enthusiastic
 Heritage Consultants."
According to Lee, the acquisition allows MyFamily to help its customer
base take advantage of the growing popularity of digital photography and
on-demand printing in preserving and sharing their family stories and
memories. Heritage Makers markets products that enable customers to load,
crop and size photos and create text for custom publications, called
"storybooks," all on their home computers.
"MyFamily's extensive expertise in enabling people to discover their
family stories will be a great benefit to Heritage Makers," said Doug Cloward,
President of Heritage Makers. "MyFamily's web sites and software, such as
Ancestry.com and Family Tree Maker, help people discover and share their
unique family stories. The strength of the Heritage Makers business lies in
its rapidly growing team of dedicated Heritage Consultants. We are thrilled
to be a part of the MyFamily network of products and services."
Sharon Murdoch, PhD, a co-founder of Heritage Makers, is a pioneer in the
growing storybooking movement. "Heritage Makers has helped thousands of
people discover, preserve, and celebrate their family heritage. As a part of
MyFamily.com, we'll have the potential to help millions more."
