TOLEDO, Ohio, July 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- N-Viro International Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: NVIC) ("N-Viro"), an environmental and materials operating company that owns patented technologies to convert various types of waste into beneficial reuse products, including the renewable biofuel N-Viro Fuel(TM) and N-Viro Soil(TM), has announced an agreement between N-Viro and a Michigan-based utility (the "Utility") setting forth testing and permitting steps to lead to the use of N-Viro Fuel in that Utility's power-generating units.

The agreement establishes a protocol for the production of test N-Viro Fuel and performing a test burn of the N-Viro Fuel product at one or more boilers owned by the Utility. This step is required to meet Michigan Department of Environmental Quality ("MDEQ") standards for final long-term permitting. This test is substantially similar to the test successfully concluded in 2007 at Michigan State University's T.B. Simon Power Plant.

After successful environmental testing, the Agreement anticipates N-Viro supplying approximately 70,000 tons of its alternative renewable fuel annually. The Agreement establishes parameters acceptable by N-Viro for BTU/lb requirements, ash content and other constituents to boiler performance. N-Viro anticipates a successful test, based upon the earlier Michigan State University results.

Additionally, upon anticipated permit approval from MDEQ, N-Viro expects the Utility to utilize N-Viro Fuel as an acceptable alterative renewable fuel capable of satisfying all or a part of Michigan's Renewable Energy Portfolio Standards applicable to the utility.
