    ROMEOVILLE, Ill., May 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Nanophase
Technologies (Nasdaq: NANX), a technology leader in nanomaterials and
advanced nanoengineered products, announced that it is a Silver Sponsor for
the Nano Science and Technology Institute's 2006 Nanotechnology Conference
and Trade Show to be held May 7 - 11 in Boston, MA. Nanotech 2006 is one of
the nation's leading nanotechnology business conferences and trade shows
specifically focused on commercially available nanoproducts, partnerships,
and business strategies. This conference is attended by large U.S. and
international companies that have nanotechnology initiatives or an interest
 in nanotechnology-based products.
Nanophase will have a significant presence at the conference and will
be presenting four papers, demonstrating the variety of technology and

Director of R&D at Nanophase, will be making two presentations on 'Use of
Nanocrystalline Ceria in EUV Lithography Optics Polishing', covering the
advantages of nanoparticles in advanced semiconductor polishing
applications, and 'Nanostructured Surface Treatment Enables the Combination
of Nano-particulate ZnO and TiO2 with Acrylate-based Polymers in Cosmetic
Formulations' in combination with BASF, which enables new cosmetically
elegant suncare formulations. Dr. Roger Cayton, Senior Applications
Scientist at Nanophase, will be presenting two papers on 'Nanoparticle
Surface Treatments-Application Tailored Interfaces', which enables a wide
range of commercial applications based on Nanophase's unique surface
treatment technologies, and 'The Impact of Nanomaterials on UV- Protective
Coatings' in combination with BYK Chemie demonstrating the advantages of
 nanomaterial-based coatings for industrial applications.
Nanophase will be exhibiting its industry-leading integrated platform
of commercial nanomaterial technologies in the Exhibition Hall on May 8 and
9 at booth 818 in combination with BYK Chemie, which will be demonstrating
their line of NanoBYK nanomaterial-based additives, including recently
 launched new products.
"Nanotech 2006 will be a gathering place of the who's who in
nanotechnology, and Nanophase is once again pleased and excited to be a
silver sponsor of the event," stated Dr. Ed Ludwig. "Because this
conference has a strong focus on commercial products, it should present
excellent opportunities to discuss new alliances and partnerships, as well
as to reinforce the ones we already have."
