(OTC Bulletin Board: NNSR.OB), a company that develops and markets nanotechnology sensors, announced today that it will commence an evaluation to determine the optimal practical physical characteristics of the porous silicon for its next generation of sensors. Sensors measure the presence of substances in the air for remote detection. The sensitivity and selectivity of these sensors depend on getting the highest density of sensor elements in a small volume, in order to be able to measure explosives and other terrorist threat materials at very low concentrations. The Company has constructed an apparatus for the electro-chemical silicon etching process which will be used to produce porous silicon. The initial evaluation of the process will be conducted with 4-inch silicon wafers to optimize porosity. The current method being used to track terrorist threat material is the "Gateway" topography where parcels and people are passed through a detection gate.
