Apr 02, 2007, 01:00 ET from Naturally Advanced Technologies, Inc.

PORTLAND, Ore., April 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Naturally Advanced
Technologies (OTC Bulletin Board: NADVF), the leading provider of
sustainable, environmental fibers and fabrics such as hemp, bamboo, organic
cotton and soy through it's HT Naturals brand, today announced 2006 full
year financial results, period ending December 31, 2006.
Sales for year ended 2006 were $1,266,781, up 32 percent, compared to
$958,238 for the year ended December 31, 2005. The net loss for 2006 was
$1,374,899, compared to $876,758 in 2005. Loss per share for 2006 was $0.07
 compared to $0.06 for 2005.
In 2006, gross profit was $330,873 up 20 percent, compared to 2005
gross profit of $276,982. The increase is attributed to the HT Naturals
division of NAT introducing new procurement systems put into practice in
2006 that improved product quality and implemented a focused strategy for
sales growth in corporate sales, private label sales and a seasonal retail
 line.
"2006 proved to be a turn around year for Naturally Advanced
Technologies," said Ken Barker, CEO, Naturally Advanced Technologies.
"Increased sales and gross profit from our redesigned HT Naturals line of
sustainable apparel, continued on from Q3 into Q4, resulting in year on
year increases in sales of 32% and gross profit dollars of 20%. Whilst the
consumers acceptance of, and demand for, our sustainable apparel solutions
continues to grow, it is the continuation of the ground breaking
developments that we are achieving with our Crailar(TM) enzymatic process
for bast fibers that gives us most cause for optimism."
The company's HT Naturals division also enjoyed an exceptional start to
2007 by entering into an agreement with the Starbucks Coffee Company as an
alliance for the nationally recognized "My Starbucks" T-Shirt program. The
Starbucks purchase of 100% certified organic cotton blend shirts gave HT
Naturals first quarter revenues a six figure jump start.
Naturally Advanced Technologies continues commercialization of their
biotech enzyme process, Crailar, as planned, and is being driven by the
collaboration with the National Research Council of Canada and The Alberta
Research Council. As a result, 2007 is expected to be a break out year for
Crailar as final development trials move to product finalization.
The management team at Naturally Advanced Technologies continues to
strategically secure global trademark protection on "Crailar(TM)" and "bast
fiber enzymatic processes(TM)." They remain focused and committed to
delivering the full potential of the company and its proprietary
 technologies in 2007.
