Sales for year ended 2006 were $1,266,781, up 32 percent, compared to $958,238 for the year ended December 31, 2005. The net loss for 2006 was $1,374,899, compared to $876,758 in 2005. Loss per share for 2006 was $0.07 compared to $0.06 for 2005. In 2006, gross profit was $330,873 up 20 percent, compared to 2005 gross profit of $276,982. The increase is attributed to the HT Naturals division of NAT introducing new procurement systems put into practice in 2006 that improved product quality and implemented a focused strategy for sales growth in corporate sales, private label sales and a seasonal retail line. "Increased sales and gross profit from our redesigned HT Naturals line of sustainable apparel, continued on from Q3 into Q4, resulting in year on year increases in sales of 32% and gross profit dollars of 20%. Whilst the consumers acceptance of, and demand for, our sustainable apparel solutions continues to grow, it is the continuation of the ground breaking developments that we are achieving with our Crailar(TM) enzymatic process for bast fibers that gives us most cause for optimism." The company's HT Naturals division also enjoyed an exceptional start to 2007 by entering into an agreement with the Starbucks Coffee Company as an alliance for the nationally recognized "My Starbucks" T-Shirt program. The Starbucks purchase of 100% certified organic cotton blend shirts gave HT Naturals first quarter revenues a six figure jump start. Naturally Advanced Technologies continues commercialization of their biotech enzyme process, Crailar, as planned, and is being driven by the collaboration with the National Research Council of Canada and The Alberta Research Council.
