WASHINGTON, April 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Nava Health & Vitality Center, an integrated health care center in the greater Baltimore-Washington area, unveiled today NavaRace, a new package of Nava services designed for competitive athletes, in conjunction with a partnership with Corrigan Sports Enterprises (CSE), a sports event marketing company.
The package includes six weeks of chiropractic, massage, acupuncture, hyperbaric and IV therapies prior to a race, as well as two services the day-of and one week post-race. Designed by Nava Medical Advisor and former NCAA Division I Track & Field champion Mark Sivieri, M.D., the NavaRace Package aims to help runners and athletes reach their peak performance.
"The NavaRace package will help athletes prepare and repair their muscles and joints before a big event," said Dr. Sivieri. "The recommended services aid in injury prevention, performance enhancement and injury recovery."
The new service package kicks off Nava's partnership with CSE. Nava will be the exclusive sponsor of the pre-race exhibition, The Nava Health & Vitality Expo — where participants pick up their race packets — as well as the post-race Nava Recovery Zone, at five of CSE's upcoming 2017 events:
- Frederick Running Festival May 6 and 7
- Columbia Triathlon May 21
- Baltimore 10 Miler June 3
- Iron Girl Columbia Triathlon August 20
- Baltimore Running Festival October 21
The Nava Health & Vitality Expo will present a series of on-site activations to introduce race participants and community members to Nava's distinct approach to helping runners and athletes achieve optimum performance.
"Through this partnership, we will be able to collectively reach more athletes with integrative health care techniques," said Bernie Dancel, founder and CEO of Nava. "While athletes tend to live healthy lifestyles, they also put a lot of wear and tear on their bodies and can enormously benefit from treatments like massages, acupuncture and IV therapy, to enhance their performance."
Following the races, The Nava Recovery Zone will offer post-race massages, rapid recovery IV therapy — specially formulated to increase hydration, vitamins and amino acids — and trainers from gymGO, a virtual personal training app, to assist with proper cool down and stretching techniques. Runners are encouraged to schedule in advance their on-site massage or IV therapy, as those receiving IV therapy will also need to complete a short consultation with a nurse practitioner.
"We care about the health of our athletes and hate to see anyone's training or race result in injury," said Lee Corrigan, CEO of CSE. "We hope our runners will take advantage of our partnership with Nava to best prepare their bodies for these strenuous events."
Runners who have signed up for CSE races will receive Nava's comprehensive wellness diagnostic and race-prep package, NavaRace+, at a special rate of $1,200 for 15 services, normally priced at $2,145. An overall health assessment is advised for runners to achieve peak performance long-term; however, NavaRace is available as a stand-alone offering for $950, a $1,800 value. Runners interested in purchasing the package, and scheduling an appointment for a race day massage or IV therapy in the Nava Recovery Zone, should call (800) 762-6282 to make an appointment.
