Network Computing Features Brainware Success Story
Article Demonstrates Growing Trend toward Embedded Search
ASHBURN, Va., Nov. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Network Computing, a leading publication for Information Technology professionals, has featured Brainware's fault tolerant search solution, Globalbrain(TM), in a customer success story titled "SirsiDynix: Why Search Is Being Integrated in Applications." The article showcases library automation solution provider SirsiDynix and its integration of Globalbrain into the SirsiDynix Enterprise.
"SirsiDynix was not enamored with traditional key word search because users often misspell search terms, so Globalbrain's enterprise search system's fuzzy matching capabilities was an attractive feature. The search engine supports User Ratings and Reviews where users can interact with each other and the library to share ratings and reviews. Also a plus was Brainware's indexing speed. 'In many cases, we will get an extract from a library automation system and need to rapidly integrate it with existing data,' explained Jeremy Klute, product manager for SirsiDynix Enterprise, to Network Computing. The Brainware system was able to catalogue more than 1 million records in less than 30 minutes."
The article references that "SirsiDynix also needed a search system that would help librarians and library users clarify their searches. Globalbrain's Facet Stacking function narrows search results by a particular facet of information, such as author, content type or holding library. Dynamic Search Suggestions are also displayed, listing other successful searches as a user is filtering information."
Globalbrain is highly scalable and enables access to vast amounts of structured and unstructured data (including e-mails, e-mail attachments, OCR-ed images, PDF files, word processing documents, spreadsheets and hundreds of other formats). Organizations and its users can simply search for information by using queries comprised of phrases, sentences, paragraphs or even entire documents of text rather than complex Boolean logic or complicated taxonomies.
Brainware's proprietary, patented search technology is also used in Brainware Distiller(TM), the company's flagship intelligent data capture platform. The system's fault tolerant search and pattern matching capabilities enable automated reconciliation and validation of unstructured text with known data repositories, enabling the highest levels of straight through processing in the industry.
