WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y., Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Building on the success of the Advanced Life Support (ALS) Patient Simulator and in response to growing interest from emergency care providers across the United States, Laerdal Medical Corporation introduces ALS Simulator Advanced.

The ALS Simulator is a realistic interactive training manikin for simulating a wide range of lifesaving skills in medical emergencies including CPR, ACLS, NBC, trauma, bleeding control and first aid. Its mobile capabilities for use in field, transport and in-hospital training, without cumbersome air tanks, hoses or cables, make the ALS Simulator an educationally effective tool for EMTs and other pre-hospital and in-hospital emergency personnel.

The new Advanced version of this Patient Simulator maintains all the clinical features and benefits of the Standard manikin described above and incorporates a new easy-to-operate PC platform based on well proven SimMan / SimBaby software. Users will now be able to control all clinical parameters from a laptop PC, enable video recording and review an event log together with synchronized recording of the patient monitor and in-room video.

In addition, ALS Simulator owners will be able to use a wide range of pre-packaged scenarios, with Trends and Handlers, which will allow users to customize their teaching-learning experience.

With spontaneous breathing, airway control, voice, pre-programmed sounds, ECG, and many other clinical features, the ALS Simulator is the fully functional, cost effective simulator that efficiently targets the key skills of emergency care providers.

The ALS Simulator Advanced will officially debut in October 27th during the 2009 EMS Expo in Atlanta Georgia.
