Many of the new store designs and merchandising elements were first seen at the award winning AT&T flagship brand store on North Michigan Avenue in Chicago and are now scaling across company-owned retail stores nationwide.
The new store concept resulted from more than two years of research designed to create a more interactive and inviting store environment, part of AT&T's continued focus on providing an unparalleled shopping experience. And now, J.D. Power announced their 2013 Full-Service Wireless Customer Care, Volume 2 study, scoring AT&T the "Highest Ranked Customer Service Performance Among Full-Service Wireless Providers."
Customers in La Grange will be the first in the nation to experience AT&T's new store concept that is reinventing how the retail business is done. This store is the latest example of the investment AT&T is making in Illinois. AT&T, which has the nation's fastest and most reliable LTE network**, invested nearly $3.3 billion in its Illinois wireless and wireline networks from 2010 through 2012, with a focus on expanding 4G mobile Internet coverage and enhancing the overall performance of its networks.** The new La Grange store is designed to serve the growing number of consumers who rely on wireless devices to manage their busy lives. The new store will open on Aug. 1, 2013, and is located at 1 N. La Grange Road, La Grange, Ill., 60525.

The new generation of AT&T stores are designed for ultimate flexibility. The stores bring to life AT&T's mission, brand vision, and personality, while at the same time satisfying curiosity about technology. The store layout will highlight AT&T's products and services, devices and accessories across three unique zones: the Connected Experience Zone, the Community Zone, and the Explore Zone.
The new Connected Experience Zone features "lifestyle vignettes" that offer customers a glimpse of how solutions can be used in their everyday lives. These lifestyle pavilions will highlight categories such as music, home security, entertainment and more.
Next is the Community Zone featuring "community tables" that encourage customers to shop and play in an open and interactive space. Customers can explore apps, accessories and devices to see how they all work together.
Finally, customers can check out the Explore Zone that highlight AT&T's diverse device line-up and accessories and view product information on video screens.
Enhanced service experience
What you won't see in these new stores is almost as important as what you will see. Customers will no longer see traditional retail cash register counters. Instead, they'll find round cafe-style tables where they can sit side-by-side with AT&T retail consultants and ask questions or learn about products or services. All retail consultants are equipped with tablets supported by a new mobile point-of-sale system so that customer transactions can occur anywhere in the store.
Customers also won't see a lot of printed product brochures in the new AT&T store format. Information will be provided at a customer's fingertips via digital signs, e-brochures and interactive video monitors.
The La Grange store hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. AT&T has more than 70 retail locations in Illinois.
