JOLIET, Ill., March 20, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The new Cadillac CTS near Chicago, IL is set to unveil at the New York Auto Show next week, and when it does, it will feature a new 3.6-Liter Twin-Turbo V6 engine.
The new engine will be coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission designed to improve fuel-efficiency and boost acceleration more effectively than a six-speed automatic. This new engine will be the first of its kind from Cadillac, as well as the most powerful V-6 ever made by GM. It also will be the most power dense six-cylinder engine in its class, according to Cadillac.
As part of the revamped Cadillac CTS, the new engine will have a SAE-certified 420 horsepower and 430 lb.–ft. of torque. It also features several entirely new components from its predecessors, including new cylinder block casting and head castings, domed aluminum pistons with top steel ring carriers for improved strength, and a 10.2:1 compression ratio.

Two smaller turbochargers and a charged air cooler will give the new Cadillac CTS near Chicago, IL quick power delivery and ideal acceleration. The new engine also will be available in the new XTS large luxury sedan near Chicago, IL.
