MERRILLVILLE, Ind., Jan. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- White Lodging is pleased to announce the appointment of Kathleen Howell as the Director of Sales at the Hilton Garden Inn property located in north Austin.

While new to the White Lodging family, Howell has more than 20 years of hospitality industry experience.  Most recently, Howell was the Director of Sales at a Fairfield Inn and Suites in Austin.  Commenting on her experience, Regional Vice President Kevin Grandin said, "With Kathleen's extensive hospitality background and her understanding of the Austin market, she is a tremendous addition to the White Lodging team."  

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Howell's first foray into the hospitality industry was in 1994 when she served as a Sales Manager for a country club and resort in Genoa, Wisconsin. Howell followed this by a move to Austin in 1997, when she accepted a position as the Director of Sales and Marketing for Hawthorne Suites.  During the course of her career, Howell has been the recipient of numerous awards from the Austin Business Travelers Association.
