New EcoBoost Engine Takes Latest Ford Escape at Maritime Ford From Functional to Efficient Maritime Ford Gets SUVs With up to 33 MPG
MANITOWOC, Wis., May 2, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The all-new Ford Escape has been EPA certified as the most fuel efficient automatic SUV on the market. The vehicle's scaled-down size has contributed to its improved fuel economy, but its 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine has taken the Escape's efficiency to the next level. Maritime Ford, a premier Ford dealership in Manitowoc, WI, looks forward to adding more efficiency to its inventory.
The latest Escape is equipped with the 1.6-liter Ford EcoBoost engine, which allows the vehicle to reach up to 33 miles per gallon on the highway, 2-5 mpg more than its main competitors. Other engines available on the Escape also receive an EPA-certified rating of 30 mpg or more.
A 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine provides up to 30 mpg on the highway and 22 mpg city, and the 2.5-liter EcoBoost option is capable of reaching 31 mpg on the highway. With the Escape rounding out the automaker's inventory, Ford currently offers 11 vehicles with fuel-efficient EcoBoost engines, and eight with a certified mpg of 40 or more.
Ford continues to develop and launch engines that are smaller in size, but more powerful than ever. The automaker remains conscious of the environment while never sacrificing the performance needs of its customers. Ford knows the importance of providing vehicles with the power and capabilities of standard cars, but with the efficiency of hybrids.
