New Firm Founded to Help Financial Advisors Buy/Sell Businesses
SAN DIEGO, May 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Launched on May 1st, 2013, and founded by industry professionals Phillip Flakes and Nicholas Gudz, Succession Link provides business consulting and an online marketplace for advisors who are interested in buying or selling their practices.
A key differentiation factor between Succession Link and other buying/selling firms and services is that Succession Link does not charge transactional fees, listing fees or membership fees to sellers. Sellers can also remain anonymous by opting to have communications from prospects filtered through Succession Link, who will then present only those that meet their unique criteria. Of course, if they prefer, sellers can also choose to communicate directly with prospective buyers.
Additionally, Succession Link has created a proprietary formula that will provide listing advisors with a quick valuation of their business' worth.* And, to assist the advisor in executing the sale of their practice, a unique network of third-party service partners is available.
According to Flakes, "We found there was a real need in our industry for such a service. That's why we created Succession Link -- to help bridge the gap between buying advisors and selling advisors."
Currently, with more than 39 listings, "The Succession Link website has more available listings than we've found on any competing site," according to Gudz.
To date, the response to the new service has been positive, with comments such as "much needed," and "easy to navigate website," being heard repeatedly.
Founders Gudz and Flakes also are co-founders and managing partners of StarPoint Consulting Group – The Financial Advisor Placement Firm and are considered transition experts to highly successful, high-producing financial advisors.
Phillip Flakes began his career in the financial services industry in operations with Linsco Private Ledger in San Diego. He then joined Dunham and Associates in the capacity of Regional Vice President of Sales, where he was responsible for raising assets under management for a 10-state territory in the Western United States. He holds a B.S. in Economics from Trinity College in Hartford, CT, and is a graduate of Noble and Greenough School in Dedham, MA.
Nicholas Gudz has held sales and client service positions with financial services firms such as Goldman Sachs & Co, HSBC Group, and most recently as Vice President of Sales with Absolute Capital Management, covering distribution in a nine-state territory on the west coast. Nicholas holds a dual degree B.S. in Finance and B.S. in Management Information Systems from Northeastern University in Boston, MA.
Succession Link is a solution that provides financial advisors with a platform for buying and selling financial service practices. It also provides advisors with access to resources that aid in the transaction process. Succession Link was founded by a group of financial services professionals who have spent their careers working with financial advisors and industry leaders.
* A full practice valuation will still be required prior to completing the transaction.
