"We are very fortunate that Vinod, David, and Michael have joined DB&A," said Morgan Buffington, Vice President of Finance. "Their wealth of knowledge is phenomenal. I look forward to their contributions to clients and to the overall expertise of our organization."
David Jesseau, Director of Analysis
Jesseau spent the last 15 years working in performance improvement consulting with Pöyry Management Consulting and Perforex. The vast majority of this time was spent helping forest industry clients improve their ability to execute more effectively. Jesseau moved up through the ranks first in operations, then in training and development, business development, and most recently as Senior Principal. During the previous five years, he focused on overseeing the execution of the analysis process to deliver the project sale.
A very satisfied DB&A client with whom Jesseau also worked, told him about DB&A. Jesseau said, "Once I started doing a little research and got into the interview process it was clear to me that DB&A shared my personal view that improving an organization's ability to execute is often a huge opportunity." He continued, "An opportunity to put this thinking to work in industries beyond the forest sector was very attractive for me." In his new role as Director of Analysis, Jesseau will utilize DB&A's proven methodology to identify opportunities for improvement through comprehensive studies, as well as manage the internal team and client team through this process.
Jesseau earned an Honors Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, and a Certificate in Adult Education from St. Francis Xavier in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada. He ascribes to the principles in Robert Fulghum's book, All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten. Jesseau enjoys spending time with family, running, and playing hockey and golf.
Vinod Menon, Project Manager
Originally from Singapore, Menon moved to the United States in 1997. He has more than 20 years of experience working globally, including the continents of Asia, Europe and North and South America. Prior, to leaving Singapore, Menon worked for Hewlett Packard. In the United States, he has worked for Lincoln Electric, Hilite International, and Whirlpool. Prior to joining DB&A, he owned a consulting company where he supported a vast network of international contacts. Over the years, his roles and responsibilities have included positions in engineering, business management, and project management.
"Because DB&A is a niche management consulting company, I am able to easily interact with company leadership," said Menon. He added, "The combination of transparency and cooperation creates the perfect conditions for me to take personal ownership of my work and to see how it directly contributes to the company." As Project Manager, Vinod will oversee consulting teams, as well as elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments to ensure project success.
Menon holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Western Michigan University and two MBAs – one from Purdue University and the other from TiasNimbas in the Netherlands. His personal and professional philosophies are to never stop learning and to always realize that change is inevitable. He has promised himself that, no matter what, he must never forget the most important things in life – health and family.
Menon has been a die-hard Manchester United soccer fan since youth. He also enjoys playing Texas Hold'em Poker where he is learning the life lessons of "reading" people while remaining calm, and knowing when to fold or throw it all in.
Michael Ramos, Director of Analysis
Prior to joining DB&A, Ramos was Senior Associate at Booz Allen Hamilton. During his six year tenure there, Ramos created an intelligence analysis team which focused on leveraging technology and process design to improve data visualization, user interfaces, analysis throughput, and intelligence production quality. In particular, he leveraged scientists and engineers to tackle highly qualitative problems by using metrics, approaches, and process design. The team specifically focused on working on "Science & Technology Intelligence" related to Weapons of Mass Destruction analysis for the Department of Defense. Ramos also spent two years with Northrop Grumman as a nanotechnology and biotechnology subject matter expert, helping to develop a research investment portfolio that would advance near- and long-term mission capabilities for the Intelligence Community. Because of these experiences, Ramos has gained an expertise in technical consulting to the United States Government.
Ramos earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Master's of Science degree in Chemistry/Biotechnology from Tufts University. In his new role as Director of Analysis, Ramos will utilize DB&A's proven methodology to identify opportunities for improvement through comprehensive studies, as well as manage the internal team and client team through this process.
Ramos was attracted to DB&A because the company offers numerous work benefits rarely found in other companies. One of the main reasons was the opportunity to make a real impact in how the company operates. Ramos stated, "In line with DB&A President Michael Owen's vision, my goal is to help the company on its upward path through hard work, leadership, and successful analyses.
Michael believes that hard work is always better than luck. In his spare time, Michael enjoys snowboarding, swimming, cycling, and fantasy football.
