PALATINE, Ill., Nov. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Square D can now help customers
take maximum advantage of the World Wide Web to control the cost, quality and
reliability of their power. POWERLOGIC(R) On-Line Web Services is a remote
enterprise monitoring program designed to collect, manage and store a
customer's vital power and utility information. The program delivers energy
profiles, billing reports, power quality analysis reports, status information
and key operational parameters over a secure connection to a standard web
"In today's business environment, customers want tools that allow them to
save money, and improve their business performance," said Lisa Rush, Square D
Marketing Manager. "With the introduction of our new On-Line Web Services, we
can now collect and aggregate customers' utility information so they don't
have to, allowing faster and easier access to critical power data."
Designed for use in single or multi-site facilities in a wide range of
applications, the program can capture information from virtually any electro-
mechanical device that is part of a building utility or power management
system. The on-line web service comes with Priority Support services that
allow Square D engineers to perform system enhancements and troubleshooting
for the customer over the Internet, freeing the customer to concentrate on
 running their facility.
The POWERLOGIC(R) power monitoring and control systems, which power the
On-Line Web Services package, consists of web-enabled monitoring devices,
controllers and data collection publishing units. At each location, metering,
lighting and control equipment are networked together with web serving
gateways or system servers that transmit information to the POWERLOGIC web
site for enterprise-based monitoring. Site options also include capabilities
for local comprehensive monitoring and alarm alerts that send email or pager
messages if there is a problem.
Using a building-block approach, a POWERLOGIC Enterprise System can start
small and grow as required. With no previous software experience required,
customers can navigate and drive system savings into their business through
the use of POWERLOGIC On-line Web Services and a simple Web browser.
The POWERLOGIC system is enabled with open industry standard MODBUS
protocol and the web-based Transparent Factory architecture of Schneider's
MODICON automation products. Automatic load preservation, generator control,
lighting control and load switching systems are routinely installed by Square
D Power Management engineers for customers using this technology.
