WASHINGTON, Sept. 20, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A new, multi-week TV ad campaign was launched today, urging a "phase down" in immigration to improve job opportunities for Americans while addressing overcrowded schools, hospitals, and crumbling infrastructure. The ad, which is running nationally with local buys in key states, is sponsored by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).
"This ad gives expression to what many Americans are feeling right now about their sense of well-being, security, and the future of our nation," said FAIR President Dan Stein. "Immigration is clearly an issue of concern for many voters and we hope this ad empowers them to convey that urgency to their elected officials."
The ad reads:
"Immigration. For decades, America has had the highest levels in our history. Higher than any other country. The result? Most new American jobs have gone to immigrants. American workers are undervalued, losing out to cheap foreign labor. Wages have stagnated, while the national debt has skyrocketed. Mass immigration has jammed our schools, hospitals and highways. Maybe it's time to phase down immigration, so we can phase Americans back in."
"When the public looks at our immigration policies, it's clear to them that they are serving no identifiable public interest," said Stein. "Phasing down immigration and phasing in Americans will allow us to address many of the critical issues we face as a nation, without the pressure of trying to absorb the equivalent of a major metropolitan area every year. Ending mass immigration would be one of the most responsible things we can do for future generations of Americans," he said.
