New Xulon Book Follows One Man's Yearlong Journey in Antarctica Lieske recounts one year apart from civilization, and God's evident workings

MAITLAND, Fla., May 12, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Bruce J. Lieske's new book, Frozen Memories: An Old Man Recaptures His Youthful Adventure in Antarctica ($14.99, paperback, 9781629523392; $7.99, e-book, 9781629523408) is the story of a man, rich in years and wisdom, who looks back in time at a youthful adventure, and rediscovers new insights about God and life. This is Bruce's personal testimony. The author offers a suggestion to his readers: "Look back on your own life! As you read the story of my life at Little America V in 1956-57, see yourself as I evaluate what happened to me from the distance of fifty-seven years."

"I hope that young men and young women will be inspired to take reasonable risks in order to do something positive," states the author. "They need that encouragement because we live in an era of helicopter parents, electronic toys which encourage sedentary living, and political correctness which lulls us to self-censor ourselves when we ought to speak, and to do."

Rev. Bruce J. Lieske is currently a retired Lutheran pastor living in Orlando, Florida, with his wife, Barbara. God has blessed him with a series of challenging careers. After his year in Antarctica, he spent three years in the US Air Force as an aviation weather forecaster. Following his military service, he served for two years as a senior research meteorologist at the Arctic Research Laboratory in Pt. Barrow, Alaska. During that time he felt the call to the ministry. After seminary training, he served three congregations, and was the founding pastor of two of them. After his pastoral experience, he founded an evangelistic ministry to Jewish people, and more recently has been involved in sharing the good news of Jesus with Muslims. He has three children and eight grandchildren. In addition to B.S. and M.S. degrees in meteorology, he holds M.Div. and Th.M. degrees in theology.
