Event Proceeds will Benefit Tuck's R.U.S.H. for Literacy

NEW YORK, April 20 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Thursday June 3, 2010, New York Giants and Super Bowl Champion defensive end Justin Tuck will host the 2nd Annual Tuck's Celebrity Billiards Tournament, presented by RXR Realty, LLC ("RXR"), the New York Tri-State's leading real estate company.  The celebrity-packed competition will feature 32 teams of athletes and celebrities vying for the title as part of an effort to support a fundraising initiative for the Pro Bowler's major charity platform, Tuck's R.U.S.H. for Literacy.  The action will take place at Slate NYC, one of the Big Apple's premier billiards clubs.

Among the celebrities who participated in the event last year were NY Giants Dave Diehl, Hakeem Nicks, Shaun O'Hara and Sinorice Moss; NY Knick Chris Duhon; NY Jet Kerry Rhodes; NE Patriot Adalius Thomas, Green Bay Packer Ryan Grant; TLC's Cake Boss Buddy Valastro; Miss USA Kristen Dalton; entertainers John Legend, Kelly Rowland, Spike Lee and Vivica A. Fox; and Law and Order star Anthony Anderson, who served as the Master of Ceremonies.

The Billiard Congress of America will be on hand to oversee each match and Jeannette "The Black Widow" Lee, world-renowned billiards champion, will also be in attendance to offer her expertise to participants.

Returning as title sponsor for the second year, RXR, along with premium sponsor Hewlett-Packard and sponsor Coke Zero are proud to support Tuck's R.U.S.H. for Literacy, a charitable group that Tuck and his wife, Lauran, founded in 2008.  The organization raises money to purchase books and other reading materials for middle school students in need.

Each year, Tuck's R.U.S.H. for Literacy holds a "Sack Challenge," where supporters donate $1,000 for every sack that Tuck makes during the NFL season.  As a result of Tuck's extraordinary play, the organization has raised over $150,000 in the last two years.  The success of the Sack Challenge prompted the Alabama native to host his first Billiards Tournament in 2009. To date, Tuck's R.U.S.H. for Literacy has given out more than 17,500 new books and raised over $340,000.
