This year's guide incorporates QR codes and bit.ly links throughout the spreads that will allow users to navigate to a digital version of the guide, with links to all the locations in the itinerary as well as an interactive Google map. Also included throughout the guide are Instagram promotions, encouraging consumers to post pictures using the hashtag #CARoadTrips so that these images can be shared on Visit California's Instagram feed and Facebook page.
This year, 600,000 California Road Trips will be distributed in the June 2013 issue of Sunset magazine, and an additional 400,000 will be distributed through domestic and international direct fulfillment and at trade shows.
