NEW YORK, Oct. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Nicktoons Network, Nickelodeon's 24-hour animation network in the U.S., will join France 2, Teletoon (Canada) and ABC (Australia) in a first-ever global sneak-peek of the new series Skyland. All networks will preview the series with either the hour-long pilot or a 75 second clip in November. Nicktoons Network (U.S.) will sneak-peek the hour-long pilot of the series Friday, November 25 at 8:00 p.m. (ET), with an encore at 11:00 p.m. (ET). Skyland will premiere on Nicktoons Network's "3 Headed Monster Block" on Saturday, January 14, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. (ET), and on major terrestrial broadcasters in Europe, North America, Latin America and Australia, including Teletoon (Canada), France 2, ITV (United Kingdom), ABC (Australia). Nickelodeon UK, Spain, Germany, Nordic (Norway, Sweden, Denmark), Holland, Italy, Nickelodeon in Israel and Nick Latin America will also launch Skyland in 2006. Skyland, produced by Method Films and created by Emmanuel Gorin, Alexandre de la Patelliere and Matthieu Delaporte, is a sci-fi action adventure series that follows a heroic young brother and sister team searching for their parents in a new world order. In the year 2251, the earth shattered into millions of blocks that now float in orbit around the earth's core, but these blocks remained suitable for living, and life continued on them. Soon, children with telekinetic powers--the Seijin--appeared. The earth's dictatorship, known as The Sphere, raised these children to enforce their power. A resistance movement of Pirates formed, but disbanded after their leader Marcus Farrell disappears. Skyland's young heroes Mahad and Lena find themselves unlikely members of the gang of Pirate rebels after their mother is kidnapped and imprisoned. They begin a journey to free their mother, fight the control of the Sphere and unravel the mystery of their father, Marcus Farrell. "We are excited to be a part of this unprecedented worldwide event launch for our new series," said Keith Dawkins, General Manager, Nicktoons Network. "Skyland, and the accompanying global premiere event, are a significant part of our global strategy to bring totally distinct, innovative content to kids in the U.S. and around the world."
