Nominees for 27th Annual Imagen Awards Announced

PASADENA, Calif., June 18, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The Imagen Foundation has announced the nominees for the 27th Annual Imagen (Spanish for "image") Awards, honoring positive images of Latinos and Latino cultures in entertainment as well as Latino creative contributions to the television and film industries. A complete list of nominees is available on The Imagen Foundation website at: www.imagen.org/awards/2012.The awards will be presented at a gala black-tie dinner on Friday evening, August 10th in the Beverly Hilton Hotel International Ballroom. Winners will be selected by an independent panel of entertainment industry executives and Latino community leaders and announced at the awards gala.    

The Imagen Awards will air as a one hour special on PBS SoCal on Sunday, September 23rd. 

About The Imagen Awards

The Imagen (pronounced ee-mah-hen) Awards program was established in 1985 from a suggestion by veteran television producer Norman Lear to encourage and recognize the positive portrayals of Latinos in the media.
