Additional Netherlands custody award received for 2nd consecutive year

LONDON, Dec. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Northern Trust (Nasdaq: NTRS) has been named European Client Relationship Manager of the Year and Custodian of the Year: The Netherlands, at the International Custody and Fund Administration (ICFA) magazine awards 2009.

The awards, held annually in London, highlight excellence in the European securities services market. A panel of judges selected winners in each of the 27 categories from submissions covering a set of criteria including significant client wins, innovation, technology and automation, as well as questions specific to the particular category.
