NASHVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 1, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Northwest Tennessee Disaster Services (NTDS) is a finalist in this year's Toyota's 100 Cars for Good!
The first nonprofit agency to honor superstar Taylor Swift for her philanthropic efforts in humanitarian relief with the Star of Compassion Award® responded to the Mid-South Flooding 0f 2011, Hurricane Isaac, Superstorm Sandy, Sandy Hook, and the Oklahoma tornadoes.
NTDS is asking those that have been touched by the agency to please spend a few seconds voting for them on: 100carsforgood.com on Friday, October 18th from 10:00 AM to 11:59 PM EST.
The humanitarian relief agency is competing for a new 2014 Toyota Tundra truck that is long overdue.
Currently, service delivery of food and lifesaving supplies are made with a small minivan with no heat, no air, failing brakes, a leaking radiator, and the transmission is going out.
NTDS CEO - Rob Adcock stated, "There is an incredible sense of good that is felt by both our volunteers and those in need when we show up to help complete strangers through the worst times of their lives. We are extremely humbled to be recognized by disaster victims in the field for acts of kindness that we are fortunate enough to share."
