Ob Hospitalist Group Celebrates Three Significant Milestones
MAULDIN, SC, Sept. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Ob Hospitalist Group (OBHG) began in 2006 with a vision to Elevate Women's Healthcare by making certain every expectant mother was afforded consistent and compassionate medical care by an OB/GYN physician when presenting to the Labor and Delivery department, regardless of condition or circumstance. A simple idea that was daunting to achieve. Creating a comprehensive model beyond the typical laborist program became the passion for OBHG founder and CMO, Dr. Chris Swain.
Today, thanks in large part to the commitment and dedication of that original team and each OBHG employee who has joined our cause along the way, Ob Hospitalist Group is the single largest dedicated OB/GYN hospitalist provider in the United States.
This fall, OBHG is celebrating three noteworthy milestones:
Our 240 Board Certified hospitalists will provide their One-millionth Hour of Service to women and their newborns when they need it most.
The opening of our Obstetrical Emergency Department at Allegiance Hospital in Jackson, MI this month marks OBHG's 50th Hospital Partnership. We thank each hospital for trusting us to not only help care for their patients but also for allowing us to partner with them to support their nurses and the community physicians.
Last, but not least, are the Five Thousand Lives Saved. This is more than a milestone; it's a legacy that carries on for generations to come.
Ob Hospitalist Group's President and Chief Operating Officer, Kevin Guion summed up his thoughts on these milestones for OBHG, "What began seven years ago as a simple conviction that there is a better way, has evolved into an industry-shaping, standards-defining, life-saving/life-changing movement within women's healthcare. Now over 300 of us have joined together in pursuit of this vision . . . to elevate the standard of women's healthcare. The industry has accepted our message, a new standard of care has been defined, and as a result, the future of OBHG and the hospitals and women we serve is very bright."
