NEW YORK, Nov. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The first ever Gunn Report for Media has named OMD Worldwide the most awarded media network in the world. The Gunn Report for Media is patterned after the prestigious Gunn Report on creativity. It ranks the most-awarded campaigns, agencies and advertisers at 31 media competitions across the world, including the Cannes Media Lions, Clios, Effies, FIAP, and the IPA awards. OMD's work outgunned the competition at 14 awards shows around the world for a total of 111 points, more than twice that of its nearest competitor. The Gunn Report for Media was announced earlier this year in Cannes and is sponsored by Procter & Gamble. The rankings recognize the importance of media, in addition to creativity, in connecting with consumers, according to the Gunn Report for Media. "We are delighted with this award. It is the culmination of all our work around the world and recognition of OMD's status as the most creative, effective and innovative full-service media-network," said Joe Uva, OMD Worldwide president and CEO. OMD (http://www.omd.com) is the largest and most innovative media communications specialist in the world, with more than 110 offices in 60 countries. OMD had the distinction of winning more honors at the 51st Cannes International Advertising Festival than any of its competitors, taking home the Grand Prix and three Media Lions. The agency network, a unit of Omnicom Group Inc., is also ranked the largest worldwide media agency network according to the 2004 Recma Report.
