Online Journalism, Clear and Simple: New CrystalType System Harnesses the Power and Versatility of Drupal

DETROIT, Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- CrystalType, an innovative new Web publishing system built on the popular and widely supported Drupal platform, has been released, giving publishers a powerful and profitable way to deliver content to their online readers.

CrystalType was developed as a joint venture between Switchback (a CMS specialist based in Ann Arbor, Michigan) and Stunt3 Multimedia (a Detroit technology firm). The system offers a wide array of features out of the box, allowing users to easily create, edit, publish and manage all types of content - text, photos, video, audio and other multimedia. It integrates with all major social media platforms, including Facebook and Twitter, and allows the user to highlight breaking news.

CrystalType also allows publishers to maximize their site's earning potential by integrating with Google AdManager.

"That's a huge benefit," said Brian Kruger, President of Stunt3 Multimedia. "Through its integration with Google AdManager and AdSense, CrystalType allows you to be profitable almost from Day One. It also uses Google Analytics, which allows you to see in great detail how many times each page is viewed, who's viewing the content and more, which gives editors and publishers the ability to make the best possible decisions about content."

"Drupal is the ideal platform for an online publication for a number of reasons," said Michael Monan, co-founder of Switchback. "It works extremely well with interactive features such as commenting and blogs, and it allows you to easily categorize and tag your content. Some of the best-known and most successful news sites use Drupal -- including the Miami Herald, the New York Observer and the Onion -- and CrystalType is an affordable way for any size or type of publication to harness its power and flexibility."

Content is created through an easy-to-use and highly intuitive Web interface that features a WYSIWYG editor. No matter where they are in the world, if a user has access to the Internet, they can easily enter and manage stories, photos, video, audio and more. In addition, the system will send automated e-mail alerts to readers based on whatever criteria you define -- daily, weekly or in the case of breaking news.
