Only Ten Remain in Murphy-Goode Winery's 'A Really Goode Job' Search Pays $10,000 per month for wine country lifestyle social media gig

HEALDSBURG, Calif., July 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Only 10 remain. Once at nearly 2,000, then whittled down to 50, the list of candidates for Murphy-Goode Winery's "A Really Goode Job" is now down to 10 finalists -- all of whom will be brought here to the Murphy-Goode's hometown on July 18 for four days of high-jinks, interviews, camaraderie and fun, culminating in the selection of the industry's first-ever "Wine Country Lifestyle Correspondent" on July 21. The job itself will start August 15.

"A Really Goode Job," which has become a media phenomenon, will pay $10,000 a month for a six-month contract that includes housing. Throughout the course of the job the successful applicant will learn about viticulture, winemaking, Sonoma County and Murphy-Goode wines. He or she will prepare and post dispatches on their experiences though social media tools such as Facebook, blogs, internet videos and Twitter as well as traditional media.

"The final 10 are awesome," said Murphy-Goode wine maker, David Ready, Jr. "It was incredibly hard to choose 10 out of the Top 50 and it's going to be much harder to pick only one, but whoever we choose, I'm going to love working with them."

The Top 10 hail from: Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, and Tampa. They are:

On April 28, Murphy-Goode Winery launched the Really Goode Job search. Applicants were required to complete an employment application and upload a one-minute video, demonstrating their special qualifications for the position.

Murphy-Goode is a family-owned winery located in the heart of California's Alexander Valley. Though laid-back and unpretentious, winemaker Dave Ready, Jr. takes immense pride in his craft, resulting in wines of the best possible quality at appropriate prices. The winery motto is: "We take our wines seriously. Ourselves.... not so much."
