Opportunity Knocks Names Best Nonprofits to Work For
ATLANTA, March 14, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Opportunity Knocks has given twelve organizations the Best Nonprofit to Work For award for 2012. Ranked against their peers by operating budget size, these nonprofits were nominated by employees and scored in several areas, including benefits, work-life balance, training and continuing education, office environment, and impact on the community. The winners will receive special recognition on the Opportunity Knocks website and blog, as well as a free featured job posting on our job board.
In the up to $500,000 operating budget category, Smart Grid Consumer Collaborative took first place with The Institute for College Access & Success in second and Levitt Comninos Carlotti Foundation, Inc. in third. In the $500,000 - $2 million category, Tapestri, Inc. won first place with Park Pride and Fiver Children's Foundation taking second and third respectively. Plant with Purpose took first place in the $2-5 million operating budget range, followed by Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation in second and Promise House, Inc. in third. Finally, Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties placed first in the over $5 million category ahead of Consumer Credit Counseling Service in second and A Better Way Inc. in third.
