ROCKVILLE, Md., Oct. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- OTG Software Inc. (Nasdaq: OTGS),
a leading provider of online data storage, data access and email management
solutions, announced today that its Director of Product Management for Storage
Products, Sheila Childs, was elected Vice Chair of the Storage Networking
Industry Association (SNIA). The selection was made at the SNIA's annual
kick-off meeting, which took place yesterday prior to the Fall 2001 Storage
Networking World conference in Orlando, Fla. Childs was elected to this
position for her outstanding contribution to the storage networking industry,
as well as her past and continued leadership in driving interoperability
"OTG congratulates Sheila on this honor. As a company, we are committed
to interoperability, and therefore have actively worked with and certified our
software solutions on over 800 devices, including SAN and NAS devices," said
Michael Del Rosso, CTO of OTG Software. "We continue to enable data
management and access by leveraging our open architecture and support for
today's complex, heterogeneous, multi-vendor environments."
As co-chair of the SNIA interoperability committee, Childs has been a
driving force in establishing and implementing guidelines for consistent
interoperability testing. Her leadership has led to the overwhelming success
of the interoperability labs at the bi-annual Storage Networking World
conferences and other major storage events.
As Director of Product Management for Storage Products for OTG, Sheila is
spearheading the Company's charge in developing, certifying and promoting
interoperable solutions in the storage networking environment through
partnerships, participation in SNIA working groups, and through internal
development. With OTG's interoperable solutions spanning multiple device,
media and network types, OTG customers can maximize their existing hardware
investment and minimize their overall IT infrastructure cost.
"I would like to thank the SNIA for choosing me for this position," said
Childs. "Only through interoperability can we, as an industry, help our
customers achieve the values of storage networking -- ease of use, management
and lower cost."
