(NYSE: OHP) has been named an eHealthcare Leadership Awards winner in the HMO
and PPO categories, receiving three platinum awards for best overall Internet
site, best interactive site and best e-business site. Sponsored by
eHealthcare Strategies & Trends, a leading Internet publication, these awards

communications and innovative web-based initiatives. A comprehensive list of
award winners will appear in the November 2001 issue of eHealthcare Strategy &

"Enhancements made to our web site and other technologies enable us to
close the loop with physicians and hospitals quickly, accurately and the first
time; allow employer groups and brokers to better administer their health
plans; and provide members the needed information to control their healthcare
experience," said Chuck Berg, president and chief operating officer at Oxford.
"Throughout 2002, Oxford will continue to improve and extend its technology
and administrative infrastructure to further simplify the healthcare process."
Approximately 700 entries were judged in one or more of the eHealthcare
Leadership Awards categories. These categories included best overall Internet
site, best interactive site, best site design, best e-business site, best
health/healthcare content and best care/disease management. Each category was
broken down into different levels including the highest merit, the platinum
award, the gold award, the silver award and the distinction award. A panel of
56 judges evaluated each entry based on detailed criteria, overall impression
and functionality. The panel was comprised of individuals from healthcare
 companies and Internet design agencies.
"The response was overwhelming. Clearly the dot-com bust has not held
healthcare organizations back from continuing to develop their web sites.
Entries this year reflected greater sophistication overall and more e-business
and disease management development in particular. Healthcare content also has
seen significant improvement," said Mark S. Gothberg, chairman of the
 eHealthcare Leadership Awards.
Oxford continues to add functionality to its web site
(http://www.oxfordhealth.com) for members, employer groups, physicians and
brokers. The web site now offers real-time functions applicable to each of
its constituent groups resulting in approximately 400,000 transactions per
month. In addition to web-based interactions, Oxford's constituents can
interface with the company using other technology capabilities including
integrated voice response (IVR) and electronic data transfer (EDI).
