Each category was broken down into different levels including the highest merit, the platinum award, the gold award, the silver award and the distinction award. A panel of 56 judges evaluated each entry based on detailed criteria, overall impression and functionality. The panel was comprised of individuals from healthcare companies and Internet design agencies. "The response was overwhelming. Clearly the dot-com bust has not held healthcare organizations back from continuing to develop their web sites. Entries this year reflected greater sophistication overall and more e-business and disease management development in particular.
