PHOENIX, Aug. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Summer in Arizona can seem to be an inhospitable wasteland. At times it is, indeed. The 120 degree temperatures, arid climate, and noxious wildlife (snakes, scorpions, and lizards) are all potential assailants in the summer months. But another insidious threat involves a dysfunctional AC system. You can assert with confidence that the Arizona summer will quickly turn into a scene from Dante's Inferno as soon as the AC malfunctions. And thus, Parker & Sons is pleased to offer a few tips for the summer months as well as a discount for an AC checkup which can be found here.

"The summer months can be dangerous and we encourage everyone in Phoenix to drink plenty of water and avoid exposure to the sun. Also don't hesitate to give us a call if you have any HVAC needs." said Josh Kelly, at Parker & Sons.

Indeed, the Arizona summer is dangerous but a few helpful precautions can make the time pass quickly. First and foremost, vigilantly hydrating is a necessity. Drinking a gallon of water, avoiding excessive alcohol and coffee consumption, and staying clear of the sun are all highly advisable. And if you notice any of the following symptoms then you ought to visit the emergency room immediately: dry mouth, dizziness, headaches, fainting, confusion, or flushing of the skin.

Another tip for surviving the scorching sun involves planning your vacation during the summer months. Arizona is  near several excellent summer vacation retreats: Park City, Utah, Boulder, Colorado, Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Mazatlan, Mexico (to name a few). A few weeks away from the heat will leave you feeling fresh and revivified.

Having your AC in good working order, taking a vacation, and remaining hydrated will keep you safe in the summer months. But perhaps the best tip is this: "always keep perspective." Remind yourself that for four months of the year Arizona is an inferno and for the other eight months a paradise. Remind yourself that this too shall pass and once again the valley will come alive with joy and comfort.
