PEMCO Insurance Again Tops Consumer Survey of Insurance Companies

Local insurer ranked No. 1 since 2002

    SEATTLE, Nov. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Consumers again named PEMCO Insurance
 the best auto insurance company overall, ranking the Washington-state
 insurer above national competition and maintaining its position atop the
 GMA Research consumer survey.
     Seventeen percent of respondents chose PEMCO Insurance as the best
 overall auto insurance company. The survey ranked Geico second with 14
 percent of the votes and State Farm third with 12 percent.
     PEMCO has topped the past four GMA Research surveys (tying for first in
 2005), which were conducted independently in 2002, 2003, 2005, and 2007.
     "It's interesting that the percentage of people who answered 'PEMCO' in
 the GMA poll is greater than our market share," said Rod Brooks, PEMCO's
 vice president and chief marketing officer. "That means PEMCO's positive
 image goes beyond just our customers."
     The independent GMA Research survey asked 400 randomly selected
 households in the Puget Sound region which company or brand in several
 different categories is the best overall, based on factors like customer
 service, product quality, value, and selection.
     Brooks said he continues to be gratified that, despite having a
 marketing budget dwarfed by the national insurers, PEMCO's brand drew the
 most recognition for being the best.
     "This ranking is something all PEMCO employees can be proud of," Brooks
 said. "I believe it's a result of our outstanding customer service,
 aggressive advertising, and community involvement."

 their brand in a highly competitive arena," said Don Morgan, GMA Research

     Besides auto insurance companies, GMA Research also gave Puget Sound
 Brand Survey rankings for health care insurance companies, real estate
 companies, cellular phone companies, grocery stores, home improvement
 stores, auto parts stores, clothing retailers and airlines.
