Pennsylvania Governor Rendell Orders Flags to Fly at Half-Staff in Honor of Slain Lakewood Police Sergeant Mark Renninger
HARRISBURG, Pa., Nov. 30 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ - Governor Edward G. Rendell has ordered all Pennsylvania flags across the Capitol Complex and in Lehigh County to be flown at half-staff to honor Sgt. Mark Renninger, who was one of four Lakewood Police Officers killed Sunday in Seattle, Wash.
"On behalf of all Pennsylvanians, we extend our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Sgt. Renninger," said Governor Rendell. "Police officers like Sgt. Renninger put their lives on the line every day to protect us, and we will lower state flags to honor him for his service and his sacrifice."
Sgt. Renninger, 39, was a native of Bethlehem. Flags will remain at half-staff until Friday, Dec. 4.
