Pennsylvania Seeks Nominations for Businesses That Are 'Champions of Older Workers'
HARRISBURG, Pa., Sept. 23 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- To honor businesses that are committed to creating opportunities for Pennsylvania's older workers, the Department of Aging is accepting nominations for the 25th Annual "Hall of Fame of Champions of Older Workers" awards.
"We have seen that business owners who hire older workers reap the benefits of their hard work and loyalty. Older workers bring experience and enthusiasm to the job which contributes to a company's success," said Department of Aging Secretary John Michael Hall.
Nominations will be accepted for employers who have actively recruited workers 55 and older, and developed training and provided flexible work schedules for those workers.
One large employer (100 or more workers) and one small employer (fewer than 100 workers) will be selected. Winners will be honored during the Pennsylvania Employer Awards luncheon at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center next May.
Nomination forms are available online at www.aging.state.pa.us and must be submitted by Dec. 4.
