Phillie Phanatic Double Play joins team's official ice cream, Phillies Graham Slam, while Graham Slam Sweepstakes returns to give away Phillies tickets
LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa., April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- What's the secret to the Philadelphia Phillies' winning ways? The folks at Turkey Hill Dairy - makers of the team's official ice cream flavor, Phillies Graham Slam - like to think their frosty treats played at least a small role in the Phils' historic 2008 season, and this year they've created a new treat that pays homage to baseball's most lovable mascot, the Phillie Phanatic.
The newest addition to the roster, Phillie Phanatic Double Play, features Bavarian cream-flavored light ice cream with caramel corn and caramel swirl. The pint-sized rookie will be available in Citizens Bank Park and wherever Phillies Graham Slam is sold.
"After a season like last year, we knew we'd have to step up to the plate with a little something extra and that's why we developed the new flavor," said Turkey Hill President Quintin Frey, adding that a lot of thought went into creating a flavor for the team's outrageous mascot. "Just like the Phanatic, this ice cream is a little unusual but it's something you can't help but love."
Also returning to the line-up is the Turkey Hill Graham Slam Sweepstakes, a season-long series of biweekly drawings with each winner receiving four Phillies home game tickets. A total of 81 winners will be chosen. One grand prize winner will receive 15 luxury suite tickets to a Philadelphia home game in October. To enter, fans must look for the code found on specially-marked containers of Phillies Graham Slam Ice Cream and enter it at turkeyhill.com.
Sales of Phillies Graham Slam also support the Phillies' RBI program, which seeks to revive baseball in America's inner cities. Five cents from every container sold will benefit the effort. Turkey Hill will also donate $100 for every Phillies win to the program.
