Phoenix Art Instructor and Florida Mom Land Free Lanyards for Over 100 Teachers in BooJeeBeads Contest Phoenix-area Alta E. Butler Elementary's Marianne Griffith is grand prize winner of nationwide contest. Second place goes to Inverness, FL mom Sandy Lapp for Pleasant Grove Elementary.

NEWBURY, Ohio, Oct. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The 85 teachers, aids, administrators and staff of Southwest Phoenix's Alta E. Butler Elementary School are now sporting the latest in back-to-school fashion: apple-a-day beaded lanyards, thanks to art teacher and BooJee Beads contest winner Marianne Griffith.

Across the country, 50 teachers at Pleasant Grove Elementary School in Inverness, Florida are wearing BooJee Beads retractable badge reel jewelry, courtesy of second place contest winner and mom of four, Sandy Lapp.

Both women are so passionate about their schools that they entered BooJee's nationwide contest, "Pin-It-To-Win-It: Back to School with BooJee" in order to win special ID holders for their schools.

Contestants were asked to "pin" some of their favorite back-to-school fashions, photos and accessories on the popular social photo sharing website Pinterest. BooJee representatives chose the top five boards and posted them on its Facebook page, where fans were invited to "like" their favorite board.

The contest was the brainchild of BooJee's co-founders Kimberly Martinez and Lisa Harrington, both moms of school-age children. "We are so thankful that our children continue to have dedicated, hard-working teachers who care about them and their education," says Martinez. "This contest was a way for us to celebrate teachers and thank them for all that they do."

Griffith, who has taught K-8 art at Alta E. Butler for five years, entered the contest in order to give her colleagues some special recognition for their dedication and hard work. "Alta E. Butler is a Title I school. Eighty-five percent of our students are Hispanic and many are new immigrants. Our teachers and staff are extremely dedicated and that dedication often goes unrecognized," Griffith said. "Being able to present the entire staff with a little something to brighten their day is so special to me. You rock, BooJee Beads!"

Lapp entered in order to salute the teachers that have meant so much to her own children. "I am just a very appreciative mom who adores Pleasant Grove Elementary for all they do for our four children! Thank you so much for theopportunity to give back!" she said.
