WEST MONROE, La., Aug. 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Pine Valley Foods, a food manufacturer of cookie dough and other products, is announcing the awarding of SQF Level 2 Certification.
SQF is an acronym for Safe Quality Food and represents the standards developed by the Safe Quality Food Institute. According to the SQF website (http://www.sqfi.com/), it is the only standards-based food program recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative located outside of Europe.
Obtaining SQF certification is a lengthy process and requires significant documentation, auditing, and commitment by the organization. "Receiving the SQF Level 2 Certification is the culmination of many months of hard work by nearly everyone in the manufacturing facility," states Joe Giildenzopf, owner of Pine Valley Foods.
By receiving the SQF recognition, Pine Valley Foods joins a list of food manufacturers consisting of some of the biggest companies in the United States. The SQF encourages buyers to work with approved suppliers and manufacturers with the ultimate goal of protecting those consuming the products.
"Quality is not something we just preach every now and then. It is part of our culture here at Pine Valley," states Mr. Giildenzopf. Part of the immediate plans for Pine Valley Foods includes the launch of a new line of retail cookie dough products under their Crazy About Cookies brand. To view details about this new line visit www.crazyaboutcookies.com. Giildenzopf believes having the SQF certification will help buyers adopt the product into the retail channel.
