Pipe Metallurgical Company Participates in the Russian National Exhibition in the USA

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill., Nov. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK), one of the leading world pipe and tube manufacturers and the largest in Russia, participates in the Russian National Exhibition November 18 - 21 in Chicago (USA).

The exhibition coincides with the 200-th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and the USA and is the first presentation in recent years of Russian companies and their innovative projects in the USA. The exhibition aims at further strengthening and developing bilateral trade and economic relations, expansion of the existing and creation of new trends of cooperation in the field of energy, machine building, metallurgy, agriculture, health care and tourism. The event is organized by the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Russian Federation with the support of Chicago's Mayor, the Honorable Richard Daley.

TMK was presented at the exhibition along with government institutions and commercial organizations such as Minpromtorg, Rostrud, the Federal Agency on Science and Innovations, the Russian Academy of Science, the Amalgamated Engine Building Corporation and Plehanov REA.

In the context of the event's official opening, TMK's display was visited by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the USA, Sergey Kislyak, Chicago Mayor Richard Daley and the Deputy Minister of Industry and Energy of the Russian Federation Ivan Materov. The TMK delegation, headed by the Chairman of TMK IPSCO's Board of Directors (American Division of TMK), Piotr Galitzine, introduced the notable guests to the operational and investment activity of TMK in the USA, tubular products manufactured at the Russian and American plants of the Company, including such highly technological products as OCTG pipes with Premium threading. In the course of conversation on other aspects such as gas shale development, which constitutes more than half of US drilling nowadays, Richard Daley expressed his approval of the work done, as well as his readiness to support the American division of TMK in their development.
