'Pittsburgh's Ultimate Haunt' Opens on September 28th
PITTSBURGH, Aug. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The ScareHouse(R) haunted
attraction is an elaborate and high-tech production utilizing digital
technology and Hollywood-quality props and prosthetics. "Pittsburgh's
Ultimate Haunt" will thrill local fright fans Thursdays through Sundays
starting at 7pm, from September 28th to October 28th.
"This is the most elaborate haunted attraction we have ever created,"
says Scott Simmons, Executive Producer of The ScareHouse(R). "Our artists
and designers started sketching and sculpting new designs for our sets and
creatures in March. We've approached this production with the same
attention to detail and production that you would expect for a feature
film."
A team of talented carpenters, craftsmen, set designers, and make-up
artists have spent over six months turning the former Etna Elks Lodge into
a gruesome gallery of monsters, mutants, and mayhem. Many of the effects
and frightening creatures were made by professional special effects
artists, technical engineers, and costume designers with experience in
multiple film, television, and theatrical productions.
"Everyone working on the project has fallen in love with our location,"
says Simmons. "To be able to create a haunted attraction inside such a
historic building, particularly one that holds so many memories for
families all across Pittsburgh, has been truly phenomenal."
Dating back to the early 1920's, the building at 118 Locust Street has
been known as a theater, a social hall, and the Etna Elks Lodge.
Generations of local families have made memories inside this atmospheric
structure, and the creepy characters inside The ScareHouse(R) are hoping
that many of them return this October.
"This is really a unique combination of history and high-tech," says
Simmons. "Local haunt fans are going to see some things that they will
never forget."
