Pizza Hut Gives 'Twintern' a Full-Time Position

Invites Fans and Followers to Submit Ideas for Tweeter's New Title

DALLAS, Oct. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- This summer, Pizza Hut made national headlines when the company began a nationwide search for a Twittering intern - a "Twintern" - to tweet for the company and assist with social media activities. The campaign generated interest from candidates across the country, and in the end, Alexa Robinson from UNC-Chapel Hill was brought on board to help manage the @pizzahut Twitter account. Not all good things have to come to an end, though. Pizza Hut has extended a full-time job offer to Alexa - an offer that she accepted without hesitation!

"As Pizza Hut's Twintern, I've been able to connect with so many interesting people who share an affinity for our pizza, pasta and wings," Alexa said. "I'm excited that I'm now a member of the team and that I can continue to support the conversation around Pizza Hut®. I'm proud to be a part of such an important priority for the team at Pizza Hut's offices."

Alexa has enjoyed serving as the company's summer Twintern, but as she steps into her new shoes as the Pizza Hut Twitterer, she'll need a new job title, too. The folks at Pizza Hut have already been busy brainstorming ideas, from "Chief Creative Tweeter" to "Social Twitterfly." Pizza Hut is turning to its loyal Twitter followers and Facebook fans for more suggestions.

From now until November 30, 2009, the online social community is invited to submit the craziest or off-the-wall ideas for Alexa's new job title. Alexa will select her favorite consumer-generated submission and put it on her business card. As an added bonus, the person who submits the winning entry will be awarded pizza for a year (in the form of $599 in Pizza Hut gift cards) from Pizza Hut. To submit an idea, log on to Twitter.com and post a comment directed to @pizzahut with your suggestion, tagging it with the hashtag #PizzaHutTitle. (See Official Rules at http://www.pizzahut.com/newsroom/2009/TwinternFullTimePosition.aspx#rules).
