Platinum Advertising Sponsors IGS Energy in 2014 Pelotonia Platinum donation to be contributed 100 percent toward R&D of cancer cure
TREVOSE, Pa., Aug. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Platinum Advertising is honored to announce its support of IGS Energy's participation in the 2014 Pelotonia held from Aug. 8-10.
Pelotonia is an internationally unified bicycling tour with one goal in sight—to eradicate the disease of cancer. With fewer than 60 days until the event, Pelotonia has already raised almost $3.5 million and has secured nearly 6,000 riders worldwide. One such rider is Scot Burris, chief sales officer at IGS Energy. Burris will be cycling on the 20-mile stretch in the State of Ohio from Columbus to New Albany.

We all know someone who has been affected by the difficulty and pain that cancer brings, so if IGS can do something to prevent illness and to save lives of future generations, it is our civic duty as an organization to do so. Because operational expenses are covered by Pelotonia funding partners, 100 percent of each dollar raised will be donated directly to the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center at the James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. Opening in Dec. 2014, this hospital will be solely dedicated to the research, treatment and eventual cure of cancer.
In 2013, Pelotonia was one of the largest cycling events in the country with nearly 7,000 riders from 41 states in addition to participation from nine other countries. That year, Pelotonia raised $19 million, bringing its five-year total to $61.3 million for cancer research. This is the sixth year of the event.
