Poetry in 3-D, Kentucky Curdled by Tamara J. Madison The poet's most ambitious project to date based on a haunting family story
ATLANTA, Oct. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Internationally travelled writer, poet, and performer, Tamara J. Madison has released a new collection of poetry, Kentucky Curdled in paperback, Kindle, and audiobook. Based on oral family history, Kentucky Curdled is a haunting poetic sequence of persona poems unveiling the tragic story of a mother's madness and the death of a youth in a small, rural community during the late 1800's.
With brazen characters, provoking imagery, and riveting rhythm, Kentucky Curdled is a blend of verse and storytelling making it engaging for both poetry and fiction readers.
Although set in a different time period, the story boldly reflects issues of contemporary news headlines and raises questions about how to create peace and resolve in times of senseless violence without the luxury of answers and justice. The story is also a creative platform of discussion around critical issues in women's health, domestic violence, and mental illness.
In both the paperback and digital versions of the text, the author includes an intimate essay revealing her personal connection to the family story while sharing her creative process and reflections about the project. The audiobook of Kentucky Curdled exclusively features the poetry with creative sound design and effects showcasing Tamara J. Madison as a consummate performing artist and storyteller.
