Porsche introduces all-new 2015 Macan Loeber Motors near Chicago gets ready for Porsche's second SUV offering
CHICAGO, Dec. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Excitement is definitely filling the air at Loeber Motors near Chicago as whispers of the arrival of the all-new 2015 Porsche Macan fills the showroom. Only the second SUV Porsche has produced, the 2015 Porsche Macan will be built on a similar platform to the wildly popular Cayenne SUV. Bringing driving and visual excitement to the somewhat boring crossover SUV segment, the Macan looks to break all stereotypes with its race-inspired drivetrain and upscale styling.
Slightly smaller than the Porsche Cayenne, the 2015 Macan will be introduced as a high-performance luxury SUV in the market sometime early next spring. Breaking the mold of traditional SUVs, the Macan borrows unique Porsche styling cues from its ultra-aggressive siblings, the 911 and Panamera. With the classic Porsche race-inspired front end and long sweeping side body molds, the Macan provides very functional curb appeal.
Perhaps the most unique thing about the 2015 Macan is its stance. Set slightly lower to the ground than most SUVs, the Macan is able to provide a very low center of gravity which produces the racecar-like handling Porsche vehicles have become famous for. Even though it sits lower than most, the Porsche engineers were very careful to still make sure this SUV will be able to execute off-road maneuvers. Thanks to a trio of responsive suspension offerings and Porsche Active Suspension Management, the Macan's ride height and feel can be tuned to the exact driving conditions.
As it stands now, the 2015 Porsche Macan will be offered in choices of two twin turbocharged V-6 engines. Standard is a 3.0-liter V-6 that creates 340 horsepower, and optional is a 3.6-liter engine that outputs a blistering 400 horsepower. Rumor has it that Porsche will be offering two additional engines for the Macan in the future, a four-cylinder as well a turbo diesel engine option.
